Rhythm of the Trees

Werner Berg commented on this painting: “Something from our farm life at its most direct, its most intimate; that is what our orchard is, something that is seen day and night in every season – just as many of my paintings are actually the sum of many seasons flowing together. Thus this painting is entitled Rhythm of the Trees, really in an almost abstract sense – and here I don’t mean abstract in terms of abstract painting – because the motif is fully absorbed by the rhythm, by the colorism of these trees.”
